Lee — Technical Sales Engineer, Cleanspec
Lee · Technical Shenzhen

Lee is the technical desk. He reads the specification before the price is discussed, and he is the person who says that a reference is wrong for the room even when the customer has already chosen it. He splits his time between the Huizhou production site and customer lines, and has worked with cleanroom wiping and swab products since 2015.

What I handle

  • Material selection: polyester, cellulose, polypropylene, rayon blends and foam
  • Particle, fibre and extractable data against the intended use
  • Solvent compatibility and residue questions
  • Substitution and equivalence trials, including line trials

Background

His starting point is always the surface and the process, not the part number. A sealed-edge polyester knit behaves differently from a cut-edge cellulose blend on a coated optic, and the difference shows up as haze, scratches or residue rather than as a failed incoming inspection. He has spent enough time on customer lines to know that the wipe is often blamed for a defect that begins upstream.

Lee works with IEST-RP-CC004 test methods, reads certificates of analysis critically, and will ask for the raw observations rather than a pass mark. He also supports audits: if an inspector asks why a reference was chosen, he can produce the comparison that led to it.

Working with me

Send the substrate, the solvent, the cleanroom class and the cleaning method. A photograph helps. If you are replacing an existing reference, send the current data sheet and the reason for the change — cost, supply, residue or a defect.

For a substitution, expect a written comparison before a sample: construction, edge finish, weight, particle and extractable data, and the parameters that differ. If the difference matters, I will say so. If it does not, I will say that too, and the trial can stay small.
